Museum's Library

The Museum's Library has more than 6000 volums about insurance's history, manuscripts end printed books from the 1500s to the present

The collection of this valuable library material began more than fifty years ago and has continued ever since in a constant search for texts from the past, combined with a continuous update on contemporary publications on insurance history.

Deepening knowledge of the insurance phenomenon means paying attention to its economic, social, legal and technical evolution. For this reason, the documentation offered by the Library is aimed not only at insurance science, but also at law, economics, actuarial mathematics, and statistics.

The Library is listed in the Italian Libraries Register of the Central Institute for the Single Catalogue and in the National Census of Italian 16th-century editions in which, by searching by location with the code MI1179, it is possible to identify the cinquecentine that are part of our holdings.
