Established in Trieste soon after the Compagnia was set up, the Central Library has 30,000 publications on insurance, law, economics, actuarial mathematics and statistics, published between the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries; the Biblioteca A. Donati, created in Rome with the establishment of the INA, has 32,000 publications and 250 journal titles.

The British Library is one of the world's major centres of knowledge. It has a holdings of more than 150 million works and its online catalogue allows searches on more than 10 million of them.

The Kress Collection of Business and Economics at Harvard University is one of the world's leading collections of rare books on history and economic policy from the 15th to the 20th century.

It possesses a collection of more than 70,000 volumes, 1763 periodicals, 346 microfilmed works and 345 CD-ROMs relating to the subjects of the eight faculties, in particular economics, statistical sciences and law.

The Davis Library is located in New York, in the School of Risk Management at St. John's University, and includes the world's largest collection of risk and insurance-related literature, policies, and documents useful for the study of risk management, insurance and actuarial sciences.

Opened to the public in 1692, it now has over 14 million books and printed publications and 350,000 collections of periodicals. Its Collective Catalogue provides access to almost all of its holdings.

The oldest cultural institution in the USA and the richest library in the world with over 120 million works including more than 18 million books, 54 million manuscripts and 12 million photographs. Fifty per cent of the holdings are in English, the rest are divided among 400 different languages.
